Later this month, Dark Horse Comics and Archie Comics are teaming up for an Archie vs. Predator crossover. But it’s not the only bizarre Archie crossover coming this year.
Archie Comics has announced that an Archie vs. Sharknado one shot comic book will be released this summer in conjunction with the release of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! on Syfy.
As the name of the crossover suggests, Archie vs. Sharknado brings the unlikely confluence of sharks and tornados to Riverdale, the home of Archie, Veronica, Betty, Jughead, Reggie and the rest of the classic characters.
Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante is writing Archie vs. Sharknado alongside Archie Comics iconic artist, Dan Parent.
“Having a chance to crossover the Archie comics with our Sharknado universe has been a dream come true,” said Ferrante in a statement. “Riverdale will never be the same and I know fans are going to get a thrill out of seeing Archie, Betty, Veronica and the rest of the gang unleash their inner Fin Shepards.”
Parent added that “to be able to bring Sharknado into the world of Archie is a dream come true. And to be working on it with Sharknado director Anthony C. Ferrante is the icing on the cake! I promise to put my all into this project to make all the Sharknado – and Archie – fans proud!!!”
Archie vs. Sharknado swims into comic stores on Wednesday, July 22.
