Cristin Milioti is once again a mother.
Deadline is reporting that the former How I Met Your Mother star has signed on in a recurring role in Fargo Season 2 as Betsy Solverson, the mother of Allison Tolman’s Molly Solverson from the first season of FX’s critically acclaimed miniseries franchise.
Milioti previously appeared in The Wolf of Wall Street and she starred in A To Z on NBC, which ran for only a single season last fall.
The new season of Fargo takes place in 1979 in Sioux Falls, with Molly’s father, State Police Officer Lou Solverson (Wilson) as the main character opposite Ted Danson’s Rock County Sheriff Hank Larsson. Milioti’s Betsy Solverson is the daughter of Sheriff Larsson, which connects her to both of the leading men in the series.
In the official description provided in the report, Betsy is said to be “A woman of the plains — pretty but firm — she can both jump start a car and make a casserole, clean a gun as well as the gutters.”
Fargo Season 2 has already lined up an impressive cast including Jean Smart, Kirsten Dunst, and Jesse Plemons with Jeffrey Donovan, Nick Offerman, Rachel Keller, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin and Michael Hogan in supporting roles.
FX is expected to premiere Fargo Season 2 later this year.
