Sarah Silverman Lands New HBO Comedy Pilot

Last year, HBO passed on Sarah Silverman’s comedy pilot, “People In New Jersey.” But she may have better luck in 2015.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Silverman has signed on to star and executive produce a new HBO comedy pilot created by Lucy Prebble (“Secret Diary of a Call Girl”). In the currently untitled project, Silverman will portray “a pathologically honest woman having a modern midlife crisis.”

If the new HBO project goes forward, it will be Silverman’s first TV series since “The Sarah Silverman Program” was canceled by Comedy Central in 2010 after three seasons. Silverman is also well known as a standup comedian, with an Emmy winning comedy special, We Are Miracles that premiered on HBO in 2013.

Silverman has also guest starred in “Masters of Sex,” “The Larry Sanders Show” and “Mr. Show with Bob and David.” Additionally, Silverman has lent her voice to “Bob’s Burgers” and Wreck-It Ralph.

Production of Silverman’s new HBO comedy pilot will likely begin in 2015.
