Christian Bale Doesn’t Think He’s a ‘Movie Star’

Christian Bale doesn’t wish to apply the label of “movie star” to himself. He told the Wall Street Journal that he’s lucky to retain the amount of anonymity that he has.

He goes into some depth during a back-and-forth with WSJ, stating that there have been actors throughout the history of cinema that, while not necessarily being typecast, they seemingly cannot escape their pervasive personalities that shine through most roles. Mr. Bale does not see himself as one of these, and because of that, it’s allowed him great success while maintaining some semblance of a private life.

Do you see any aspects of Christian Bale that come through and instantly identify him, regardless of his given role in a film?

Check out the coverage at Cinema Blend for more details on his interview.
