Former ‘Lost’ Star Joins ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5

Any actor or actress would be extremely lucky to land a role on one of the biggest genre shows on television. But Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has just done it twice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on to the fifth season of “Game of Thrones” as Malko, a new character who will be created for the show. Akinnuoye-Agbaje is perhaps best known for his role as Mr. Eko on “Lost,” which he famously left after just over a season because he reportedly didn’t like living in Hawaii.

On television, Akinnuoye-Agbaje has previously starred in HBO’s “OZ” and co-starred in “Strike Back” and “Hunted.” Howeber, Akinnuoye-Agbaje has made a bigger mark in films, with roles in Thor: The Dark World, The Thing, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Mummy Returns and Bullet To The Head. Earlier this year, Akinnuoye-Agbaje appeared in Pompeii alongside “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje has also landed a role in the movie Trumbo opposite Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren and Diane Lane. Additionally, Akinnuoye-Agbaje has a leading role in the upcoming remake of Annie.

“Game of Thrones” Season 5 will return to HBO in Spring 2015.
