ESPN Camera Takes Foul Ball Right In The Lens

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be drilled in the face with a baseball? Or, have you ever wanted to taste the fear (minus the blood in the mouth) a pitcher might get when a liner is hit right back at him? Now’s your chance to live the moment. It goes by in a flash, but just watch this foul tip destroy this camera:

This really isn’t something one might see very often when watching a game on TV, but when it does happen, I’m sure all the viewers at home were likely startled at first. Further more, if viewers might have been startled, image what the remote camera operator was feeling!

Adam Jones was the skilled batter who placed the ball right into the nice and expensive lens on ESPN’s camera during Sunday night’s game between the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees. Hopefully ESPN didn’t bill him for it.
