Kansas City Royals: Wait a Minute, Big Crowds Are Bad?

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost recently stated that the team’s home town needed to attend more games in greater numbers.

Here’s the kicker: after losing a couple games with attendance over thirty thousand, Ned stated that, while it was getting players pumped up, it also made them undisciplined and energized for the wrong reasons.

So, which is it, Mr. Yost? Do you want large crowds and more support from your home city? Or do you want middling crowds and mediocre effort from fans? Considering your team is a playoff hopeful, I’d let the fans come in droves and simply discipline your own team if they let the stadium energy from large crowds go straight to their heads.
