In the aftermath of Original Sin, Captain America knows all about the Illuminati and the unthinkable things that they’ve done to save the Earth from multiple Incursion events. And to Cap, this means that his friends have become his enemies.
New Avengers # 24 cuts to eight months later in the Marvel Universe as the Avengers and the Illuminati are at war with each other while the Incursion events have been rapidly increasing. Time is running out for the Earth, so Namor has assembled a new team. Or rather, a new Cabal including himself, Thanos, Maximus, Black Swan, Terrax, Proxima Midnight and Corvius Glaive.
Basically, Namor has thrown in with some of the galaxy’s biggest villains just to survive. And this group has even fewer ethical lines to cross than the Illuminati!
