HBO Canada has announced the new documentary series “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways,” which will profile the band the Foo Fighters.

Leading up to the November worldwide release of their eighth album Sonic Highways, the 11-time Grammy Award-winning Foo Fighters, who will celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band, will be profiled in the eight-episode documentary series, which is directed by the band’s own Dave Grohl. The first episode premieres on Friday, October 17th at 11pm online and on demand, and debuts on HBO Canada at 12 midnight immediately following the season finale of “The Knick.”

Born in Seattle, Washington in 1984, the Foo Fighters was founded by Grohl, who also played for Nirvana. They’ve won two MTV VMAs, an American Music Award, and three Brit Awards.

Beginning October 24th, “Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways” will move to its regular timeslot on Fridays at 11pm on HBO Canada.
