Vince Vaughn Rumoured For True Detective Season 2

While the world continues to suffer the effects of “True Detective” withdrawal symptoms, rumours continue to fly about for season two casting, with the man once known as Fred Claus, Vince Vaughn, said to be in talks for one of the lead roles.

TV Line is reporting that the actor is in “preliminary talks” to play one of the three leads in the HBO drama’s upcoming second season, adding his name to the likes of Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch who have also been linked to the series.

As “True Detective” is an anthology series, neither Matthew McConaughey nor Woody Harrelson will return to the show and the second season will feature a new storyline and all new characters.

While known for his comedic work in films like Wedding Crashers, Old School and Swingers, Vaughn has demonstrated his dramatic abilities with his turn as an FBI agent in The Cell and when he played a psychopathic serial killer in the 1998 film Clay Pigeons. He has also recently wrapped filming on the crime drama Term Life, co-starring Hailee Steinfeld.

“True Detective” series creator Nic Pizzolatto has said that season 2 will be set in California and feature “four central roles.” There’s no word yet on when filming will commence.
