2014 Honda Jazz Australian Release

A brand new Honda Jazz will roll out across Australia this week.

A touch up on the successful second-gen model which first appeared seven years ago, the new Honda Jazz will come in three trim grades.

Honda has cut prices on the fuel efficient small car, with the VTi manual representing the line’s opening model at $14,990, a $1,000 saving over the current Jazz line.

Both the VTi CVT auto and VTi-S CVT auto, 16,990 and $19,790 respectively, are also $1,000 cheaper than current models.

Wednesday’s official launch will include further Jazz specs, however already revealed standard features include a seven-inch touchscreen display with a three-mode reversing camera (normal, wide, top down) and the manufacturer’s ‘Magic Seats’, offering 18 different configurations. Also included are standard Honda safety measures-  Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, Vehicle Stability Assist and six airbags.

All three Honda Jazz grades feature the 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine, producing 88kW at 6600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4500rpm

A manual version of the car is only available with the Jazz entry model and consumes 6.2 litres of fuel per 100km, while auto models Ti, VTi-S and VTi-L run at 5.8 l/100km.

“The Jazz is truly a global car,” Honda’s Australia General Manager Communications and Customer, Jason Miller, said ahead of the release last week. “It has sold over 5.2 million units since it was introduced over a decade ago, cementing it as one of our global core models.

“This new model builds on what customers love about the Jazz – practicality, fuel efficiency and driving enjoyment – by adding new features and technology, such as a colour touch screen Display Audio system and reversing camera as standard.

“The new ad campaign (below) gives Jazz an added dose of personality to engage a more youthful audience, as well as selling its impressive array of features.”
