Comic-Con 2014: Watch: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Trailer

It’s impossible to read people’s descriptions of trailers and scenes from Comic-Con and for it to make any sort of sense. Film is a visual medium after all. Word was strong about the Mad Max: Fury Road footage Warner Brothers debuted yesterday. But after loads of posters and photo-spreads those who were not at Comic-Con wanted to see some moving images.

And now you can see it yourself. And My goodness. Yes, this looks like a squirmy, anarchist action game-changer. We could use more big exciting words, but, officially CraveOnline can say that — without a doubt — this is looking like the most kick-ass blockbuster season film of 2015.

What sold us? The pole-vaulting bandits. Furiousa’s (Charlize Theron) wrench-adorned arm. Furiousa’s troupe of models lost in the desert. The psychedelic flares. That Mad Max’s (Tom Hardy) medical records indicate that his “genitals are intact.” Director George Miller (who’s co-scripted and directed every Mad Max ideation) seems to have pulled off his desire to do “a movie that feels like a feature-length chase scene.” And that he’s done that by building, crashing and exploding actual cars, as opposed to CGI. Also that Max’s ride appears to be the same one that was destroyed in The Road Warrior. Could the calm opening shot be more than a pensive mood-setter and actually let us know that Fury Road is a prequel?

Tell us your thoughts below. Mad Max: Fury Road will be released May 15, 2015.
