CBS Orders James Patterson’s ‘Zoo’ To Series

After CBS found success with its summer event series, “Under The Dome,” it ordered the upcoming sci-fi series, “Extant” for this summer. Now, CBS is looking ahead to summer 2015.
 
According to Deadline, CBS has ordered an adaptation of James Patterson’s “Zoo” straight-to-series for a 13 episode first season that will premiere next summer. “Zoo” was published as a novel in 2012 and it follows “a young renegade scientist” who is attempting to discover the cause of violent animal attacks that are occurring worldwide “before time runs out for animals and humans alike.”

The TV incarnation of “Zoo” is being spearheaded by “October Road” creators Josh Appelbaum & Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg with CBS Studios. All four of them are also serving as showrunners on the upcoming “Halo” TV series for Microsoft. Their previous credits include Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot.
 
“Zoo” will likely premiere in June or July 2015.
