Sony Confirms PS4 Bundle for The Last of Us Remastered

Earlier this week, an Amazon France listing indicated that a PS4 bundle with The Last of Us Remastered included would be available for purchase on July 30th — just one day after the game’s slated release. Given the accuracy of previous Amazon France listings, it seemed a fairly dependable indication of what’s to come.

Today, Sony has confirmed the existence of the bundle, which will include a physical copy of The Last of Us Remastered, a PS4 console, and a DualShock 4 controller, and sell for £374.99 / €429.99. What hasn’t been confirmed is the July 30th release date, with Sony indicating “next month” for the bundle’s availability.

It may seem odd that a last-gen game would generate enough hype to warrant its own PlayStation 4 bundle, but The Last of Us is no ordinary last-gen game. It’s a perfectly feasible scenario that developer Naughty Dog had heaps of high-quality assets at the ready, just waiting to be used in a PS4 version. Meanwhile, the PS3 version required things to be scaled down to run properly (and still look great in its own right, I might add).

No word on a US bundle yet, but it only seems logical for Sony to carry it over eventually. In the meantime, stay tuned.
