‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Lost’ & ‘Stargate Universe’ Stars Headline Netflix’s ‘Sense8’

Two years ago, Lana and Andy Wachowski teamed up with “Babylon 5” creator, J. Michael Straczynski for “Sense8,” a TV project that quickly found a home at Netflix. And while the  Wachowskis are notoriously secretive about their projects, the full premise of “Sense8” has finally been revealed.

While speaking to Deadline, Straczynski said that “Sense8” will follow “eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets.

Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”

According to the report, the eight characters will be played by Brian J. Smith (“Stargate Universe”), Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter Ascending), Aml Ameen (“Harry’s Law”), Doona Bae, Miguel Silvestri, Jamie Clayton, Tena Desae and Max Riemelt.

Freema Agyeman (“Doctor Who”), Naveen Andrews (“Lost”), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill) have also been cast in leading roles on “Sense8,” alongside Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra and Terrence Mann.
