New HBO Canada Dramedy Sensitive Skin Will Air In July

HBO Canada recently announced the premiere date for its latest Canadian series “Sensitive Skin,” premiering Sunday, July 20th – the new series stars Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Kim Cattrall, who also executive produced the show.

The bittersweet half-hour series is the story of Davina (Golden Globe Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Kim Cattrall), a woman of a certain age and her long-time husband Al (Tony Award winner Don McKellar) attempting to change their lives. The couple have sold their comfortable family home and moved downtown to an ultra-modern condo, in a conscious effort to keep relevant, and begin again. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens.

Cattrall, who is probably best known for playing sex kitten Samantha Jones on the smash hit “Sex and the City,” has also had starring roles in projects such as “Big Trouble in Little China,” “Mannequin,” and “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.” Born in Liverpool but raised in Courtenay, BC (she holds dual citizenship), her producing work on “Sensitive Skin” is her first time dabbling behind the camera. The series is executive produced by Cattrall along with co-star McKellar, who directs all six episodes, and Gemini Award winner Bob Martin (“Slings and Arrows”), who wrote the entire series. “Sensitive Skin” was shot in Toronto and is adapted from the acclaimed BBC Two program of the same name, which starred Joanna Lumley (“Absolutely Fabulous”).

“Sensitive Skin” debuts on HBO Canada on July 20th at 8pm.
