Game of Thrones Game Gets Martin Assistant as Story Consultant

It still doesn’t sound like Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones game (that’s a lot of times to say game in only five words, by the way) is going to be landing on a console near you anytime soon, but a new report does offer at least one encouraging detail about the much-anticipated project.

As reported by Crave gaming site Destructoid (via the original report in The New York Times), author and creator George R.R. Martin’s personal assistant Ty Corey Franck has been tabbed by HBO as a story consultant working with Telltale on the game.

The Times didn’t have much else to reveal about the development beyond some initial character art, but as Destructoid pointed out, it’s nice to see someone close to Martin is taking an active hand in the game’s genesis.

Still no release date on the Game of Thrones game, so Westeros fans will just have to suffice with devouring the current fourth season of the HBO hit for the time being.
