Lorde Finally Meets Inspiration For “Royals”

Lorde’s song “Royals,” was a summer hit of the ages, garnering nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart last year. The New Zealand singer later told reporters her inspiration for the song actually came from a 1976 National Geographic photo which featured — as funny as it sounds — Royals Hall-of-Famer, George Brett, signing autographs.

Since that word was released, Brett and Lorde have had plans to meet. According to TMZ, that meeting finally took place Tuesday.

The meeting was reportedly before her concert in Las Vegas.
