NYIAS 2014: Aston Martin Debuts Two 2015 Models

There’s something about NYIAS that draws the European makes out into the open with their big announcements and newest models.

Aston Martin got out a little ahead of the super car pack Tuesday, announcing two new special edition cars making their debut at NYIAS 2014.

First, those of you saving your pennies and waiting for the day you could snag a new Aston for less than $100,000 may now rejoice. The V8 Vantage GT will arrive in 2015 showrooms sporting 430 horsepower and a top speed of 190 mph. Aston managed to knock it down under that century mark thanks to the V8 in its name. You’re not going to sniff the hand sewn leather of any V12 Aston Martin south of six figures.

The new Vantage comes in both Coupe and (most excitingly) Roadster setups. May the car gods bless Aston Martin for offering the Vantage GT with a six speed manual transmission. Of course, the driving feeble out there can opt for the high tech seven speed Sportshift II automatic/manual gearbox, if they must. Yes, the paddle shifting automatic is also a fine transmission, but…Please, people. Manual.

The brand new DB9 Carbon Edition adds more aggressive styling to the already classic model. To paraphrase Henry Ford, you can have any color of this car you want, as long as its Carbon Black or Carbon White. That’s how they come standard, anyway. For a little more cash off the top, customers can utilize the Aston Martin color system to personalize the Carbons.

The Carbon Black packs the same 183 mph performance out of its 6.0 liter V12 as any other DB9. But the Carbon uses a much darker color and trim presentation with carbon fiber accents throughout the body.

For all of this extra attention to detail, the Carbon Edition sells for $199,995.
