Ryan Braun’s First At-Bat Since PED Ban Receives Standing Ovation

For those who don’t follow baseball, Ryan Braun was playing baseball at a record-breaking clip before being busted for PED use in late 2011. The 2011 NL MVP claimed he failed his first drug test due to an error by the tester and was beyond adamant about his innocence. Even though he won his 50-game appeal in 2012, he was busted again last year, receiving a 100 game ban. He’s been one of the most hated men in baseball, until possibly now.

Aside from the fact he’s banned from baseball forever with one more failed test and he’s already let an entire franchise down by missing most of the 2013 season, Braun lost all respect following his second bust because he was so rigid and unapologetic, claiming nothing but innocence the previous years before. Here is the video of him addressing the media following his appeal of his first bust, just in case you forgot about how he lied through his teeth.

He literally says that, “I would bet my life that this substance never entered my body at any point.”

It wasn’t that long ago fans were doing this to their Braun t-shirts.

However, something crazy happened during Braun’s first at-bat of the season Monday. At home against the Braves, the fans of Milwaukee seemed to agree overwhelmingly to forgive and forget — giving the slugger a standing ovation.

Mil-e-wau-kay: which of course is Algonquin for “the good land.”….and home to the most forgiving fans in the history of ever.
