FX Renews ‘Archer’ For Two More Seasons

Earlier this year, FX shifted “Archer” Mondays to kick off a new night of programing. With the current season of “Archer” experiencing series highs in ratings, a renewal was expected. But FX has made a much larger commitment to the future of “Archer.”

FX has officially renewed “Archer” for two additional seasons of 13 episodes each. That means that “Archer” will be running through the Winter 2016 season and feature at least 88 total episodes across seven seasons. However, FX is also leaving the door open for additional seasons of “Archer.”

In a brief statement, FX’s Original Programming President, Eric Schrier said “Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand. We’re grateful to [creators/executive producers] Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons.”

Not only does the pickup make “Archer” one of the longest running primetime animated series on cable, it also sets the stage for “Archer” to be sold into daily syndication on either broadcast or cable networks.

Created by Adam Reed, “Archer’ stars H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Amber Nash, Chris Parnell, Jessica Walter, George Coe and Lucky Yates.

“Archer” Season 5 is currently running on FX.
