Fresh off their team-up in The Wolf of Wall Street, Jonah Hill will play Richard Jewell and Leonardo DiCaprio will play his attorney in a new movie about the security guard who was accused in the bombing of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
According to Crave’s Coming Soon website, the movie is based upon an article from Vanity Fair entitled, American Nightmare: The Ballad of Richard Jewell.
Following the bombing of the Olympic Park, Jewell was at first hailed by the media as a hero then, in a move that now seems standard with media outlets, was accused of being the bomber and essentially tried in the court of public opinion. Jewell was eventually exonerated but not before his name was dragged through the mud.
DiCaprio is producing the movie.
