Sochi Olympics 2014: Shaun White Crashes At Olympic Qualifier

Sochi Olympics 2014 Video: First Look Event Update #2

While on his second run in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. Thursday for the Olympic slopestyle qualifer, Shaun White took a nasty spill following a jump that left him nearly motionless, face-first in powder.

Associated Press:

White was trying a double flip on the second big jump of his opening run when he crashed. He stayed on the ground for a minute or two and was attended to by medical staff before he made his way down the mountain under his own power.

The great news is that White appears to be alright and will try to qualify for the Olympic Team in the halfpipe with two finals on Friday before doing another Sunday. Although he took this spill Thursday, White still qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in the slopestyle — duh.

You can see the crash below by skipping to about the 1:05:25 mark.
