Watch ‘Doctor Who: The Night of The Doctor’ 50th Anniversary Prequel

The Eighth Doctor is a unique figure in the history of “Doctor Who.” Back in 1996, Paul McGann was signed to star in a “Doctor Who” TV movie on Fox that was designed to lead to a new “Doctor Who” series. But a new series didn’t materialize until BBC’s 2005 “Doctor Who” revival.

Outside of several audio plays, McGann only portrayed the EIghth Doctor once onscreen… until now. “Doctor Who” showrunner Steven Moffat has written a prequel minisode for the upcoming 50th Anniversary special called “The Night of The Doctor.” In it, McGann reprises his role as the Eighth Doctor in person for the first time in 17 years!

The Eighth Doctor’s reappearance also challenges some of our assumptions about the Doctor’s activities during the Time War. And by the end, the Doctor must make a dangerous choice…

This story will continue on Saturday, November 23 in “Doctor Who: Day of The Doctor,” which brings John Hurt’s War Doctor into an adventure alongside the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith)!
