Toyota celebrated the 2013 edition of the massive SEMA show in Las Vegas, NV by unveiling the entrants and the winners of the automaker’s second annual Dream Build Challenge.
Dream Build brings together Team Toyota racers, athletes and celebrities into open competition to custom build the coolest special purpose vehicle from Toyota models.
So, it’s the perfect place to feature the specialty vehicles built for this year’s challenge. The four vehicles in contention were listed on Toyota’s website — with consumers invited to vote for their favorite ride.
Joe Gibbs Racing, Motocross took hold of a Toyota pickup to make into the “Let’s Go Moto Tundra.” Founded in 2006 by Coy Gibbs, son of NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach and three-time Sprint Cup Champion team owner Joe Gibbs, the team is sponsored by Toyota and Yamaha – with Justin Brayton and Josh Grant riding for the team.
Both riders were involved in the design and building of the Tundra (above and left) that would serve as an all-purpose transport for the bikes and the entire racing team.
Kyle Busch Motorsports took a Camry and turned it into a legitimate rally racer (CamRally), while Oakley put together the Ultimate Dream Ski 4Runner for fans of the slopes. Finally, Skullcandy put together a WIFI-friendly Crusher Corolla for BMX riders.
When the votes were counted, the massive Let’s Go Moto Tundra took the top prize. Featuring an eight foot rolling “pit lane” with TV screens, data acquisition points and video feeds, The Tundra also comes with a power washer, spare parts, tools, retractable shades, refrigerator and helmet dryer.
There’s no word if Gibbs Racing will use the vehicle in competition, but nothing is stopping them.
