Youtube’s first ever Geek Week event is currently taking place on some of its most prominent original channels. Tomorrow, the focus shifts to Stan Lee’s World of Heroes as Geek Week enters Super Wednesday.
“I’m sort of the head guy in the Geek Week thing. Just cause I’m a head geek,” explained Stan Lee while speaking with CraveOnline. “We’re proud to be part of Youtube and Nerdist’s Geek Week event. Stan Lee’s World of Heroes will host Super Wednesday. I’m gonna be the host! And we’ll have new exclusive content on the channel.”
For many Marvel fans, the most anticipated part of Super Wednesday will be the reveal of a new trailer for Thor: The Dark World. But Stan Lee’s World of Heroes will also be unveiling new original content of its own to coincide with Super Wednesday.
“[Stan Lee’s World of Heroes has] got everything that has to do with heroes,” noted Lee. “We have ‘Stan’s 8-Bit Cameos,’ we have ‘Stan’s Rants,’ where I rant about anything. We have ‘Bad Day,’ which is a cartoon using imitations of real superheroes in a cartoon form that’s one of the funniest things ever. We have interviews, we have comedy skits. We have everything! But it all has to do with heroes.”
Some of the other original programs on Stan Lee’s World of Heroes include “Marvelous Movie Shawarma” and “Star Wars Speed Dating.”
When asked for the name of his favorite geek in Hollywood, Lee jokingly replied “My favorite geek? I think… me! I’m not gonna give anyone else that honor!”
On Thursday, Geek Week shifts over to Machinima for Gaming Thursday before Fan Friday continues the event at Felicity Day’s Geek and Sundry channel. Geek Week will run through Saturday, August 10.
