A recent rumor has suggested that Sebastian Stan might be playing a character other than Harvey Dent in The Batman 2. Director Matt Reeves recently confirmed the casting of Stan in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The Batman 2 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on October 1, 2027.
Sebastian Stan rumored to play a different villain in The Batman 2
Renowned scooper Jeff Sneider recently said that Sebastian Stan is rumored to be playing a villain in the upcoming movie The Batman 2 other than Harvey Dent, or Two-Face.
Although Stan has been confirmed to be starring in the sequel, his role has not been confirmed, but it has been reported that he will be playing the role of Harvey Dent. Sneider brought up the new rumor during a podcast appearance with John Rocha. However, he stated that his words need “to be taken with a huge grain of salt.”
Sneider said, “I got an email this week. It was a f***ing crazy email. It said that someone else is playing Harvey Dent. And it said that Sebastian Stan was playing another villain and that Charles Dance is actually playing Scarlett Johansson’s father.” He added, “The fact that Reeves didn’t confirm any of that, I wonder if there’s some sort of bait and switch going on.”
Stan recently spoke to Deadline about working on The Batman 2 and stated that it was a “challenge.” He further stated, “I feel like it’s a really ambitious movie, and I think if we do it all right, and obviously I’m so excited about Matt Reeves because he’s been one of my favorites for a long, long time. I really think it’s going to blow people away. It’s going to surprise a lot of people, I think, too.”
