David Conrad Enlists In ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

The big news out of Comic-Con was that Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill in the pilot episode of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and maybe a few more appearances during the first season. But Smulders won’t be the only CBS alumni on the series.

TVLine is reporting that David Conrad has signed on to “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” for a recurring role. Conrad is best known for starring in “Ghost Whisperer” alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt for five seasons on CBS.

Conrad’s role in “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” has not been revealed, but TVLine noted that Conrad fits the recently released casting call for “a brilliant and quirky scientist” in his 40s. The character will likely be an original creation for the show.

Prior to “Ghost Whisperer,” Conrad appeared in “Roswell,” “Miss Match” and the feature film, Wedding Crashers. More recently, Conrad had guest roles in “The Firm,” “The Good Wife” and “CSI: Miami.”

“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will premiere on Tuesday, September 24 on ABC.
