Next Batch Of TIFF Films Revealed

A number of films that will be shown at TIFF this year have been revealed, including horror movies and documentaries.

Here are a few horror titles that are on the bill:

– OutKast’s André Benjamin stars in All Is By My Side, which follows the life of rocker Jimi Hendrix.

– Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno, a gruesome homage to the notorious Italian cannibal movies of the late seventies and early eighties.

All Cheerleaders Die, the story of a high-school outsider’s plot to revenge herself on the captain of the football team when things turn bloody and some phantasmagorical hijinks get tossed into the mix. This horror comedy is from directors Lucky McKee (May, The Woods) and Chris Sivertson (I Know Who Killed Me).

And for the docs:

– Canadian documentarian Alanis Obomsawin’s Hi-Ho Mistahey!, which chronicles the Attawapiskat First Nation’s campaign to draw global attention to the Canadian government’s shocking neglect of Aboriginal youth education., about a teen First Nations education activist.

Filthy Gorgeous: The Bob Guccione Story, Barry Avrich’s account of the life of this most unlikely revolutionary of the 1960s counterculture. It examined Guccione’s long and audacious career, most notably as publisher of the hugely influential pornographic magazine Penthouse and producer of the porn epic Caligula.
