Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Spark ‘Soap Opera’ Warning With UK Return — Columnist

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has barely happened, yet the spotlight is already firmly on them. A columnist has warned that their presence could reignite the tensions and scrutiny that have surrounded the couple for years. The comments follow a Palace communication reaffirming their position outside the working Royal Family. With the Sussexes now closer to the royal orbit, their next moves could attract even greater attention.

Columnist warns UK public to ‘fasten their seatbelts’ over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s UK return

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have returned to Britain, but columnist Jane Moore believes the move could bring more complications than reconciliation. In her latest column for The Sun, Moore warned readers to “fasten your seatbelts,” suggesting the Sussexes’ presence could lead to another round of royal headlines.

The warning comes after King Charles issued a formal letter to senior officials. The message reaffirmed that Harry and Markle remain “non-working royals” and should be treated as “private citizens.” It also clarified that they cannot use their HRH titles and that their activities are separate from official royal duties.

However, the timing quickly became part of the story. According to reports, the Sussexes were surprised by how little notice they received before the letter became public. In fact, their team allegedly disputed that account and said they were “surprised” by its contents.

Meanwhile, Harry has already made a public appearance since returning to Britain. He was seen signing a mural at Tower Bridge Studios on Monday. Moore argues that such appearances can create an awkward distinction. Harry may no longer carry out duties on behalf of the King, yet his status as Charles’ son still attracts considerable attention.

That distinction could matter commercially, too. As Moore points out, charities, events, and brands may still see value in having Harry involved because of his connection to the Royal Family. His royal background continues to generate headlines, even when his appearances are made in a private capacity.

The situation could become even more complicated as the couple makes further public appearances. Moore suggests that speeches and engagements may be closely examined for possible references to the Royal Family. Any disagreement with the Palace could also attract renewed attention.

For Moore, the combination could create another “soap opera.” She ultimately suggests that the Sussexes may have changed their location, but the underlying story has not necessarily changed.
