EA E3 2016: All the New Trailers and Announcements in One Place

The EA E3 2016 press conference was held yesterday, with the publisher making some new game announcements along with unveiling a bunch of new trailers for their upcoming games. With EA shining a spotlight on the likes of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2, there was plenty to see during the event to bring us into E3 week.

Check out all the new trailers and announcement from the EA E3 2016 event below:

Titanfall 2

EA is putting a lot of weight behind Titanfall 2, unveiling a brand new single-player mode for the upcoming FPS. With the first game being criticized for its lack of content, it seems that this time around developer Respawn Entertainment is looking to cram it with stuff to do, including a story mode that focuses upon the bond shared between Pilot and Titan.

But while many solo players will be happy to see the game’s introduction of a campaign, Titanfall 2’s multiplayer mode still takes center stage, and it looks excellent. With the addition of new abilities and equipment such as a grappling hook and a teleporter, Titans are also now equipped with additional melee capabilities, standing toe-to-toe against one another and punching each other in their Mech mouths while Pilots whiz around them.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

EA has been pretty quiet about the mysterious Mass Effect: Andromeda thus far, but its appearance during EA Play was the highlight of the show. Promising a universe we will “lose ourselves in,” the game appears to boast an emphasis upon player exploration and adventure, and while we still don’t know a great deal about it, there’s enough here to get Mass Effect fans excited.

Battlefield 1

The Battlefield 1 reveal trailer has the most likes of any video in YouTube’s history, so suffice to say to plenty of people are excited to experience the series’ new World War I setting. The first gameplay trailer doesn’t disappoint, highlighting explosive trench warfare, vehicular combat and action set-pieces lifted from the Great War. Realistic crumbling environments and gorgeous weather effects also means that the game looks bloody lovely, too.

FIFA 17

FIFA typically doesn’t differ  much from year to year, though EA Sports has clearly sought to change that in FIFA 17 by way of introducing a brand new story mode in which players guide a character through to club and international glory. With players assuming the role of a prospective fictional footballer called Alex Hunter, the game will feature cutscenes that tell an original rags-to-riches story of the young man rising through the ranks of the soccer world. It looks weird, but we’ll have to reserve our judgement until we see more of it.

EA also debuted brand new gameplay footage, showing off FIFA 17’s new use of the Frostbite engine along with the typical array of new gameplay changes, from new attacking techniques through to more intelligent runs.

Madden 17

Madden 17 returns with a Franchise mode deeper than ever before, which includes a brand new Play The Moment feature which allows players to only experience the most crucial parts of a game. Aside from this it appears to be business as usual, with the same tight gameplay and uncannily realistic visuals carrying the series into a new year.

Fe

EA announced its new EA Originals publishing program during its E3 2016 press conference, which will place a spotlight upon indie games following the success of Unravel. The first game unveiled for this new program was 3D platformer Fe, developed by Swedish studio Zoink.

Star Wars

EA announced a bunch of new studios working on Star Wars games during its presser, with Dice, Respawn, Visceral Games, Capital Games, BioWare and Criterion each working on a new game set within the sci-fi universe, while developer Motive will also be helping DICE out with its sequel to Star Wars Battlefront. They also debuted a brand new trailer titled ‘A Look Ahead,’ which offered more information and very short glimpses of what we can expect to see from these developers in the near future.
