Watch The First Teaser for Cinemax’s New Action Series ‘Quarry’
Cinemax has offered few different looks with its previous action series Strike Back and Banshee, but now the premium network is going to unveil one of the very few period action dramas!
Later this year, Cinemax will debut Quarry, a new drama series based on the novels by Max Allan Collins. The series takes place in Memphis near the beginning of the ’70s as a Marine who served in Vietnam named Mac Conway finds nothing at home for him besides disappointment and rejection. That’s why Conway will transform from a sniper into an assassin.
Cinemax has dropped the first teaser trailer for Quarry, which features some intense imagery as Conway attempts to come to terms with his inner turmoil. And while there’s a hint of love in there, there is also a lot of violence in Conway’s past and his immediate future.
Jodi Balfour co-stars in the series as Joni, with Peter Mullan as the Broker, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Ruth, Damon Herriman as Buddy, Jamie Hector as Arthur, Edoardo Ballerini as Karl, Skipp Sudduth as Lloyd, and Kurt Yaeger as Suggs.
Collins is actually slated to write the fifth episode of Quarry‘s eight-episode first season, but the majority of the season will be written by Graham Gordy and Michael D. Fuller, the screenwriters who developed the show for television.
Cinemax has not yet released a premiere date for Quarry, but it will likely premiere in the fall.
