Crave is proud to premiere the bright pop-rock of Ravi Shavi‘s latest single “Device,” the second track off their new EP Independent, set for release on 5/27 via Almost Ready Records. Following up last year’s self-titled LP, the six-song EP showcases the evolution of the Rhode Island outfit while maintaining the rhythmic pop-rock infectiousness of its predecessor.
Riding a ’60s sunshine-pop sound, “Device” penetrates with the same dance-demand energy and angular precision of early offerings from The Strokes. But the attitude is equally confident and determined, backbeat flurries intensifying as the track builds to a spastic crescendo, before simmering to a punctual conclusion.
