Luka Modric needs to chill out a little bit, if comments he allegedly made to the referee during Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final against Manchester City are anything to go by.
Despite completing 88 percent of his passes during the match and continuing to be a vital asset to Madrid’s midfield, Modric was reportedly more than slightly angered by the officiating during the match, with him reportedly telling the referee:”I f*** your Slovenian mother in p****.”
Modric’s alleged outburst was posted by the Facebook page Liga Prvakov Slovenija, which claimed that Modric had said: “Jebem ti mater Slovensko u p****,” a combination of Croatian and English that translates to the offensive comment noted above. It’s difficult to successfully lip-read Modric’s seemingly enraged rant, but if true then the midfielder could face punishment from UEFA.
Regardless of what Modric did or did not say, Madrid still moved into the Champions League final after besting Manchester City 1-0 in an otherwise underwhelming match. Madrid will face Atletico Madrid to decide who takes home the trophy.
