“Moments” Debuts On Twitter Canada

How can Twitter stay current and engage users even more? Well, Twitter Canada thinks it’s about integrating “Moments” to its platform, something Americans have been using for several months.

“Moments is basically a story that spotlights the best of what’s happening on Twitter,” said Twitter Canada’s Jen Wilson, a former journalist who will be helping to curate Moments, to the Toronto Sun. “So, each Moment is between five and 12 pieces of content, on average. You’ll see tweets, videos, gifs, Vines, quotes and links. And all of those items work together to tell a story, to give you a snapshot of what people are saying, reacting and feeling around any given topic.”

She continued, “I think that Twitter has never done a great job of showing the stories that are unfolding on its platform, within its platform. Moments is really a great chance to showcase how much amazing content is being created each day, the things that people aren’t noticing.

Madhu Muthukumar, the project manager for Moments in the US, added to the Wall Street Journal, “What we’re trying to do is get the content directly in front of you without you having to make decisions.”

Look for the little lightning bolt icon on your Twitter account to try out the new Moments filter.
