Ultra Exclusive | Interview: Audien Shares His EDM Survivalist Versatility

We’re back from a fantastic week at 2016 Ultra Music Festival, and Crave is still rolling out exclusive interviews and performance recaps to relive the incredible experience.

While down in Miami for the biggest dance music week of the year, we set up camp at The Music Lounge, the annual 3-day dance party featuring live sets and interviews with the world’s biggest DJs, producers and more. There we caught up with Martin Garrix, as well as Sultan + SherpardCLMD and more, including Nathaniel “Nate” Rathbun, better known under his stage name Audien.

One of the hottest trance producers on the circuit today, Audien has been on a meteoric rise over the past few years. The Connecticut native made heads turn with last year’s Grammy nomination for his remix of Bastille’s “Pompeii.” On the final day of The Music Lounge, Crave sat down with the young star to reflect on the untethered fun of the biggest week in dance music, as well as the ever-changing goals of a successful producer/DJ. He also covers his plans for the near future, including a stop at this year’s 25th anniversary Lollapalooza celebration, some upcoming new releases and more. The guy also knows his way around Miami restaurants – he’s a human Zagat guide. Check out our conversation below, exclusively on Crave:
