Seth Meyers Takes on Mad Max: Fury Road In New Parody Video

“Oh what a lovely Leap Day!”

On Monday’s episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the series celebrated Leap Day by parodying one of last year’s best films, Mad Max: Fury Road. It may not have given George Miller the Oscar for Best Director, but Mad Max: Fury Road is still the ruler of our hearts! Although six Oscar wins is truly impressive.

In the video, Seth Meyers casts himself as “Reasonable Max,” one of Immortan Joe’s War Boys who appears to be too environmentally conscious for his own good. As the rest of the War Boys are forced to witness, Reasonable Max questions their wasteful tendencies, their over-reliance on chanting and body paint, in addition to trying to convince the assembled warriors to reject fossil fuels in favor of wind power.

Judging from the way that Immortan Joe reacts to Reasonable Max’s suggestions, he’s been towing the environmental line for some time. Who knew that the War Boys had memos? And while Immortan Joe doesn’t see fit to simply murder Max for his insolence, he’s not above screwing with him about his proposals. Along the way, the Doof Warrior and his infamous flame-shooting guitar also make an appearance as Reasonable Max is put in his place.
