Canadian Rocker Kim Mitchell Recovering From A Heart Attack

Canadian rocker Kim Mitchell is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack.

The following post was put on Mitchell’s Facebook page by his management company: “Alert Music confirms that Kim Mitchell had a heart attack in the early morning of January 12th. After successful emergency surgery, Kim is resting in hospital for another day or two. Doctors tell him it will be 6-8 weeks before he is back to full strength. Kim would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s hospitals.”

Mitchell has had great musical success both on home turf and abroad – he was a member of the band Max Webster before venturing into solo projects, and he also worked for Toronto’s rock radio station Q107 for 11 years, leaving his post there in July 2015. His hits include “Go For Soda,” “Patio Lanterns,” “Alana Loves Me,” and “Easy to Tame.”
