The Flash and Arrow have tie-in comics at DC, and now it’s Supergirl’s turn!
IGN broke the story about Adventures of Supergirl, a new digital first comic book series that will take place in the continuity of CBS’ Supergirl TV show. Former Supergirl comic writer Sterling Gates will return to the character for this series.
Adventures of Supergirl will also feature a rotating lineup of artists, including Emanuela Lupacchino, Jonboy Meyers, and Emma Vieceli. However, Bengal has been slated to pencil, ink, and color the first three-part storyline in the title.
While the stories won’t directly tie into the events of the Supergirl TV series, it shares the universe with the show and it will allow the creative team to bring in classic villains including Rampage, Psi, and Vril Dox, which is one of the alias previously used by Brainiac.
Adventures of Supergirl will be printed, but only as a trade paperback that will be released in Spring 2016.
