Rams WR Stedman Bailey Shot In Head

Reports confirm third-year wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot twice in the head Tuesday night in Florida. The Rams player is currently in critical but stable condition.

What we don’t know is how it happened. The Rams released the following statement:

“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening,” the Rams said. “We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”

ESPN says a source told them Bailey was sitting in a car with a bunch of people when he was shot and that the driver suffered more serious injuries after being shot multiple times while trying to shield children in the car from bullets.

Bailey went to high school in the Miami area. Some reports say he was shot in the Miami Gardens, FL area.

Bailey is currently serving a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating its substance abuse policy. The 25-year-old also served a two game suspension last season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Bailey was a third round pick in 2013 out of West Virginia where he was teammates with current Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin.

We will follow this closely and add updates as they come in.
