Tim Seeley’s Hack/Slash Horror Comic Is Coming To TV

For ten years, Tim Seeley’s Hack/Slash languished in Hollywood’s development hell as Relativity Media tried to make the comic into a feature film franchise. Directors Marcus Nispel, Fredrik Bond, and Todd Lincoln were all briefly attached to direct a Hack/Slash movie, but it never came to pass.

However, the recent breakup of Relativity Media and its former television division appears to have given Hack/Slash some new life. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the newly spunoff Relativity TV production company is looking to bring Hack/Slash to television as “a dark and gritty show in The Walking Dead mold.”

Hack/Slash was created by Seeley and artist Stefano Caselli in 2004 for Devil’s Due Publishing before it moved to Image Comics. The main character of the series was Cassie Hack, the daughter of an infamous slasher (a Freddy or Jason style serial killer) who reinvented herself as the ultimate final girl and traveled the country looking for other slashers to put down. Cassie’s partner was Vlad, an outwardly monstrous man who was a true friend and protector for Cassie.

Screenwriter Skip Woods (A Good Day to Die Hard, Hitman) is already slated to write the Hack/Slash TV pilot, and the search is currently on for a director. Woods will executive produce the Hack/Slash series with Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord.

At New York Comic Con, CraveOnline spoke with Seeley and Tom King about their DC comic book series, Grayson. You can watch that interview by clicking on this link!
