TIFF 2015 Video | Chiwetel Ejiofor on ‘The Martian’

Chiwetel Ejiofor is no stranger to space travel. Audiences know him well as the villainous Operative from Joss Whedon’s Serenity. But in Ridley Scott’s The Martian Chiwetel Ejiofor has been given a decidedly more heroic task: bringing a stranded Matt Damon home from Mars, from all the way back on Earth.

In The Martian, Chiwetel Ejiofor plays a genius in a room full of geniuses. So we sat him down at the Toronto International Film Festival to explore what that demands of an actor, and what it’s like walking around inside the head of a genius director like Ridley Scott. The always eloquent Chiwetel Ejiofor regales us with stories from the production in this exclusive Crave video interview.

And no, he can’t tell us a damned thing about Doctor Strange.
