Balotelli is gearing up for an imminent move to AC Milan, according to Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport

According to the site, the current Liverpool man is set to move out on loan to the club, with there also being a €10 million option to buy him at the end of his stint. Milan will pay 50% of his wages, with the striker reportedly set to take his medical at the club tomorrow.

The owner of AC Milan Silvio Berlusconi has given the deal the go-ahead, according to GdS, with the Italian outfit set to pay €3 million to bring Balotelli to the club. The Italy international has struggled to get first-team action with Liverpool after a difficult first season with the club, with him having previously been brought in to lessen the blow of Suarez’s move to Barcelona.

Unfortunately the former Man City striker failed to light up the pitch, and now that Brendan Rodgers has brought in Christian Benteke to add to the Merseyside club’s attacking threat, Balotelli seems destined to spend the majority of this season without consistent first-team football.

Milan had previously confirmed they were holding loan talks with Liverpool, but now it seems more than likely that Balotelli will make the move and a return to the San Siro. CEO Adriano Galliani has stated that he has interested in bringing Balotelli to the club as he is “convinced this lad realises that this is absolutely his last chance,” but whether Balotelli will manage to step up his game for his Italy comeback remains to be seen.
