Aaron Hernandez Found Guilty Of Murder

It was almost two years ago former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of murder. Today, a jury in Massachusetts convicted him, sending the 25-year-old to prison without parole, pending an appeal.

The former tight end once had a $40 million contract with New England. Now he’s found guilty of murdering one-time friend and possible future brother-in-law Odin Lloyd.

Lloyd was shot six times on the night of June 17, 2013 in a deserted industrial park close to Hernandez’s house in North Attleborough.

Hernandez was reported as saying “They got it wrong,” while being transported from the courthouse to state prison Wednesday.

Following his arrest in 2013 for the Lloyd murder, we also found out that Hernandez was linked to two other homicides as well that happened in a Boston drive-by back in 2012. Although there was no official motive found, it is widely speculated that Lloyd was murdered because he knew about the double homicide Hernandez already committed.

Hernandez’s mother, Terri, and his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, cried and gasped when they heard the verdict, and Lloyd’s mother also cried. Jenkins wept loudly on his mother’s shoulder. Hernandez, his eyes red, mouthed to them: “Be strong. Be strong.”…

… Police almost immediately zeroed in on Hernandez because they found in Lloyd’s pocket the key to a car the NFL player had rented. Within hours of Hernandez’s arrest, the Patriots cut the former Pro Bowlathlete, who was considered one of the top tight ends in the game.

Hernandez’s problems are still far from over. He is still awaiting trial on murder charges for the drive-by shooting in 2012. He was also found guilty of weapons charges Wednesday.
