Iggy Azalea, Tragically Hip On Bill For Ottawa Bluesfest

Organizers announced the official line-up for this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest, and big-name performers include Gord Downie and the Tragically Hip as well as Iggy Azalea.

Jason Aldean and Chvrches, as well as Keith Urban, Blue Rodeo, Hedley, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nas, and Marianas Trench, will also take to the stage this July at Lebreton Flats.

And most recently, CeeLo Green was added as a headliner, and Air Supply was also added to the performance line-up.

Azalea, who hails from Australia and took the world by storm with her 2014 album The New Classic, leading to the announcement of “The Great Escape Tour,” which was just recently rescheduled to begin this September. Meanwhile, the Hip, who have 13 studio albums under their belt, have won more than a dozen Junos and are members of Canada’s Walk of Fame as well as the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. They are currently on their “Fully and Completely Tour.”

The official line-up announcement came following an online leak of the itinerary by a blogger who came across the list of performers. “It did force our hand a day or two early, but honestly it wasn’t the end of the world,” said executive director Mark Monahan to CTV Ottawa. “The bands that they found actually were the right bands. There were some others there they could’ve found that weren’t. It’s really difficult to not have all the agents, all the managers, all the sponsors at least leak something.”

Ottawa Bluesfest runs from July 8th-19th, and ticket presale will begin on March 26th at 10am via Front Gate Tickets.
