Video Premiere: East Cameron Folkcore Capture Childhood Passion on ‘Kingdom of Fear’

The desperately passionate soul of childhood is poignantly conveyed in the new video from the East Cameron Folkcore collective, “Kingdom of Fear”. Crave is proud to exclusively premiere the clip, which is the first in a trilogy that will eventually piece together for a singular work encompassing the three tracks “Kingdom of Fear, ”The Joke” and ”969”. All will be available on ECF’s cinematic concept album, Kingdom of Fear on April 7 via Nine Mile Records.

Through the eyes of a child we see the all-too-common occurrence of a struggling middle-class family hanging on for life when the rug is pulled from beneath them. A deep, thick brushstroke of empathetic compassion, “Kingdom of Fear” conveys the confusion, desperation and the uplifting essence of enduring spirit in a child. A rising sound that bursts into a choral sing-along towards the song’s conclusion will give goosebumps to your goosebumps.

ECF bandleader Jesse Moore explains the video concept:

“The Kingdom of Fear trilogy was conceived over a six month time frame of weekly meetings between the producer, Tyson Heder, the director, Reid Connell and myself, Jesse Moore, to attempt to tell a story of universal struggle in the modern American family. We follow the personal struggles of a father and daughter in an apathetic society that scorns the poor and unlucky.”

Director Reid Connell:

“Our approach was always to take the music in a different direction, to boil these big ideas the record deals with, into small intimate moments between a young girl and her father. In part one our characters are forced to start over but don’t know where to even begin.”

The fourteen songs on Kingdom of Fear are divided into four chapters, perfectly split for the double-vinyl edition of the album. Starting with “The Grand Illusion,” the view then focuses “Through The Looking Glass” before the people raise their voices (“The People Speak”) until finally, the “Ship Of Fools” casts off, ending the record and the story. You have to experience this record in it’s entirety. One who skips or compiles will lose the whole thing. The introduction, “What The Thunder Said“ serves as a view to what happens in the next hour and the songs of the record merge without rests, repeat musical motifs and recycle lines which came up before.
