Alanis Morissette Will Be Inducted Into Canadian Music Hall Of Fame

“You Oughta Know” that Alanis Morissette is going to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at next month’s Juno Awards.

The songstress behind hit albums like Jagged Little Pill and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie has been occupied with mommyhood as of late, but that doesn’t mean that the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has forgotten that major mark that the 40-year-old left on the music industry.

“It is an honour to be honoured by my home country that I adore so much,” said Morissette in a statement (as reported by CBC News). She hails from Ottawa.

Morissette has also dabbled in acting on television as well as film (appearing in such hit shows and movies as “Sex and the City,” several episodes of “Weeds,” and “Dogma”), and has done some stage acting as well. But music was never far behind – her most recent tour, “Intimate and Acoustic,” which saw her performing 10 live shows.

The 44th annual Juno Awards will take place at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre on March 15th.
