Interview: Zakk Wylde Previews Wylde Audio Gear, Talks Football

Rock legend Zakk Wylde who is known for endorsing Gibson guitars and Marshall amplifiers, is starting his very own guitar, amp and accessories company Wylde Audio. Zakk hooked Crave up with an exclusive sneak preview of his new signature line of equipment for Wylde Audio at the NAMM convention last weekend, where we sat down with the guitar hero for an in-depth chat on the brand, the year ahead and the hilarious fiasco that is “Deflategate” in the NFL.

Zakk excitedly displayed four new axes, with one guitar featuring a black bullseye design, a signature design in Wylde’s band Black Label Society. He also debuted the Wylde Audio Master 100, a large white amp, with the promise of more goods to come. Check out the full breakdown, as well as a little shred session to conclude the interview, below:

Wylde says that there are plans for Wylde Audio to include “everything down to studio plug-ins with ProTools. Headphones. Anything you can think of audio: cable, strings; we’ll be involved in that.” Looking to expand the Wylde brand, Zakk plans to invite other artists to collaborate on their own signature instruments, like he has previously done with industry leaders such as Gibson and Marshall.
