Ronnie Wood Performed with One Direction on the X Factor for Some Reason

I wasn’t expecting to be greeted this morning with the news that Ronnie Wood had joined One Direction on stage during the final of big-budget karaoke contest X Factor, but it happened. Oh it happened.

I was still under the impression that this may have all been a big ruse when I clicked on the video, but after Harry Styles (who, with his unkempt haircut and unbuttoned, gaudy array of shirts, is steadily looking more and more like a perma-preened Mick Jagger for the Facebook generation) bellowed “It’s Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood!” only for the guitarist to come shuffling onstage, backing up to stand in line with the boyband and looking every bit their withered old drug dealer.

The bizarre performance came at the end of an X Factor final which saw Some Guy defeat Some Girl. Speaking after the performance, the band’s Irish contingent Niall Horan said that “as a fan of guitarists… a guitarist fan” he was honoured to share the stage with Wood and his increasingly pronounced cheekbones.

Reports that they all went backstage and shared some blow are unconfirmed.
