Sydney band Sticky Fingers have been told never to return to Wagga Wagga’s Union Club Hotel in country New South Wales after engaging in a night of “disgusting” behaviour.
The riotous band’s visit to Wagga Wagga last weekend saw the five-piece booted from the Union Hotel after abusing venue security, damaging stage equipment and urinating on the hotel balcony, according the Union’s Josh Bradley.
“They thought they weren’t in the wrong and they could do what they wanted. It was plainly disgusting, childish and unprofessional,” Bradley told Wagga’s The Daily Advertiser.
The band apparently also showed up to the sold-out set late and smashed a guitar onstage, belonging to a member of support act Bootleg Rascal, damaging nearby sound equipment.
The band, specifically frontman Dylan Frost, is steadily building a controversial reputation, which now includes a guilty plea to a DUI charge earlier this month and an arrest at a music festival on Western Australian holiday island Rottnest last year.
Last weekend’s event was a product of social media app PopUpGigs, an initiative which aims to bring top shelf live acts to typically out of reach destinations.
“Obviously we want everyone to have a good time,” PopUpGig’s developer Tolsa Harrison said. “We want to bring people together to enjoy good live music. The venue put a lot of faith in us. I feel awful about the stuff that happened because it should be about creating good live music.”
“They will definitely not get a gig back here again,” concluded Bradley.
